What's on my mind??

25th September 2018

Let's talk about fruit tree pruning.

It is important to provide high quality fruit, so by keeping your tree healthy we can achieve this.

Winter is the time to get your apple/pear trees pruned as well as most bush fruits, this will encourage growth and health to your trees/orchard next year for a full year of fruit. It also improves the size and quality of fruit.

The first aim is to remove dead or diseased branches and to create a good decent structure. Trees that are strong with good branches have a much better chance of a long productive life.

You must be careful to not prune too little or too much, there is a fine line between new growth and extra fruit production.

Hope you can achieve a good fruit production next year. Any questions please do get in touch.
